Advice: Any advice given regarding products and services offered by this website or advice given by a representative of The Drainage Company Ltd, whether this advice is provided on-site, via email or verbally is general advice only and in the absence of a site visit by one of our engineers should not be taken as a specific instruction. Manufacturer guidelines must be read before installation is carried out or products used. UK Septic Tanks and the Drainage Co Ltd do not accept responsibility for the installation of any units or related pipe-work when these are sold on a supply only basis. Full installation instructions will be provided with the units and by prior request before delivery. Installations and Servicing: Where a sewage treatment plant, pumping station or rainwater harvester is sold on a supply only basis, it is always recommended that commissioning of the unit is carried out by an authorised engineer. This will ensure the best performance for the unit and that any warranty for the item is validated. Should you require details of the cost of this service, please contact UK Septic Tanks. Should a sewage treatment plant not be commissioned or serviced in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, UK Septic Tanks or the Drainage Co Ltd cannot accept responsibility for the effluent quality produced by the unit. Registration Service: By purchasing this service along with the product to be registered (e.g. Septic Tank or Sewage Treatment Plant etc) you thereby authorise UK Septic Tanks to act as your agent in your application for registration of your septic tank or sewage treatment plant for exemption under the relevant legislation. If you are purchasing the Registration Service only for your existing Septic Tank or Sewage Treatment Plant, or for equipment that you intend to purchase from another supplier, then UK Septic Tanks will prepare the necessary documentation for your registration and then send this to you for submission to the relevant authority. You declare that all information given to UK Septic Tanks will be correct and shall form the basis of your registering for exempt water discharge. You further confirm you have read the guidance (which can be found on the Environment Agency (EA) & Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) websites), understood and accepted the specific conditions and limits of the exception and that your operation will keep to them. If you are registering exempt water related activities, this means that you must operate without causing pollution, in particular without causing: Please note that if your system cannot for some reason be granted an exempt status, you will have to apply for a Permit to Discharge for which the EA/SEPA will charge you. UK Septic Tanks will of course do all that is possible to obtain exemption status but if this is not possible we will advise you immediately and discuss what your options are. Please also bear in mind that the ‘exempt status’ or Permit to Discharge can be revoked by the EA/SEPA if the conditions of registration are not maintained – this involves proper maintenance and record keeping of servicing etc. Returns Policy: Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive. You are responsible for the cost and risk of loss or damage when returning the goods, so you should ensure that sufficient postal insurance is in place to cover the value of the goods being returned.
